A few things could have been affected. Is the drivers inflator fully connected? How was the sir coil, that sits before the lock plate, handled? Was it rotated at all. It has a centerpoint, and if it is more one way than the other, it will break inside when over-rotated. Of course the connections at the base of the column are something to check as well.
