1996 Cadillac EL Dorado Engine Idle

My engine will idle higher than usual when in gear. When taken out of gear the idle will race to 3000 RPM. This is an intermittent problem, when have checked for Vacumn leaks disconnected the Cruisse control throttle cable and replace the IAC unit and the problem is still ongoing. Where should I look next?

Is the throttle cam at it's rest, or is the throttle stuck open. Another check would be the throttle position sensor.

My last position was to replace the throttle position sensor and with everything else that was completed this seem to correct the problem. So far so good. Thanks, RC
