2001 Cadillac DTS Intake gasket

How imprtant is the replacement of the intake gasket and oxygen sensors, both right and left front. There seems to be no adverse engine prefomance. Just the fact the "Check engine soon" light is on.

Are you being recommended to replace all that? If so, what are the trouble codes involved. I am suspecting that you are faced with a P0171, and P0174-both banks lean. If that is the case, I would be almost certain the oxygen sensors aren't needed. The intake gasket, if you are talking about the boot between the intake and the plenum, that is a high probability it's your cause, they do split and cause this symptom. If someone is requesting to replace all eight intake port seals, that is understandable. Since the intake is off, it would just be some additional parts, and the piece of mind is justifiable.
