I want to purchase a 2001 Cadilliac DTS but the engine needs to be replaced. About how much would that cost me?

It all depends on what route you take, Reman vs. salvage(used). I would speculate a reman would run 3000 to 4000. A used one may cut those values in half, but a used engine may present other problems, and come with a lot less warranty.
