1996 Cadillac Deville Concours. 140,000 miles. I was on the interstate and of of a sudden my car juss wouldn't let me give it any gas. Like the gas peddle juss went out. So I pulled over and at first it started up and went back and forth by itself but when I tried to use the gas it wouldn't work. Then it wouldn't start at all. I put gas treatment in it and changed da oil. That was it. Then I was told by a mechanic to get an air filter and a fuel filter and put them on. So I got them and put them on. It started like it was brand new. I mean like it never did before but the gas peddle still wasn't workin properly. I drove around the block. And it made it pretty far but I stopped at a store so when I tried to start it back up, it wouldn't start. I got it towed home. So now it wont start at all, and I notice now it says, " Service-Emission sytems" I dont know what that means.

The service emisions system probably means you have a computer code listing the problem the computer sees. You will need to have the code read, and then try and fix what it says is wrong.

You can get the codes read by using an OBDII tester. Then you can research the codes and see what it is saying is wrong.
Sounds like the engine conrtol computer is messing with the engine. But if it is seeing bad signals from sensors, it may not be the computer. Hopefully the codes will lead you to the correct solution.
