I have a 95 Cadillac Deville 125K V8. The code on it says P055 Current. Closed Throttle angle out of range. Not sure what that means or how to get it fixed.

Also, the heat barely works. I can turn it on and it blows cold air for 20 to 30 minutes then it gets warm. Sometimes I can hear the compartment move behind the dashboard but not all the time.

Please help.

PS. I cleared all the codes and P055 came back.
. Previous codes were p026, p098, I039, A037 T083 all History

The codes seem to point to the TPS throttle position sensor, try repacing or adjusting it.
Try warming the Vehicle, then carefully feel the heater hoses, are they both hot? If one is cooler than the other, You need to flush the core, or a replacement job on the heater core. Also if the system has a heat control valve on the heater hose, make sure it is working!

Ok I have no idea what that is or how to adjust or replace it.

I warmed the car up the other day and when I got in it it said car overheating!

Neither of the hoses are hot nor the radiator. The dash just keeps reading engine coolant hot, idle engine.

Someone said it maybe the thermostat

That will be the ECT or electronic coolant temp sensor malfuntioning, itf you don't know what or were a TPS is you really shouldn't attemt to fix it, let a mechanic do it, older cars. Pre 96 require a knowledge of proper installation methods. And post 96 may require special tools. If you set this a WOT the car won't even start!

Does your gas petel stick in cold weather? Try cleaning out the carbon build up around the throttle plates first, could be causing the tps to read wrong
