I recently replaced a front left wheel bearing after I noticed slight top to bottom movement, and mild metal to metal noise when turning left. The old hub was bad, and needed replaced. After the new hub was installed, I could spin the hub assembaly and hear a noise coming from under the car. I raised the car on the lift and had my friend spin the hub while standing under the car. The slight grinding noise located directly under the transmission. This noise is only when spining the hub forward in neutral, not reverse. And this noise is only there when spinning the left front tire. There is no greese leaks, or damage to the cv half shaft. Do you have any idea what this might be, before I have professional rip the Tranny apart.

thanks

Do you hear this noise while driving? That would be the rear test. The only thing that is rotating when you are spinning the left front wheel is the axle shaft, and the output shaft in the transmission that runs to the right side where the differential(final drive) is located. The noise should be almost the same forward and reverse. If you are not hearing the noise while driving, then I wouldn't be too concerned. You could always pull the trans pan and check for metal debris.
