I WAS CHANGING MY SPARK PLUGS ONE DAY AND GOT ALL OF THEM CHANGED UNTIL I GOT TO THE LAST ONE. FIRST OF ALL THE MOTOR SITS SIDEWAYS AND MY PROBLEM CAME WHEN I WAS CHANGING THE ONE AGAINST THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. TIGHT SPOT! I FINALLY GOT THE SPARK PLUG OUT AND PUT THE NEW ONE IN. BEGAN TO TIGHTEN DOWN AND HEARD A SLIGHT SNAP THEN A FELT A GRIND. THOUGHT I BROKE THE SPARK PLUG, BUT NO. THE SPARK PLUG IS IN THERE. I SHINED A LIGHT AND A MIRROR DOWN THERE AND THERE SEEMS TO BE DEBIS DOWN THERE NOT ALLOWING ME TO TIGHTEN DOWN ON THE PLUG. I PUT SOCKET ON IT, IT JUST TURNS AND TURNS. WILL NOT GRIP PLUG. I THINK I ROUNDED OFF THE PLUG. ANY TOOL AVAIABLE TO GET THIS PLUG BACK OUT WITH THAT YOU KNOW OF?

Is it possibly just porcelain pieces from the spark plug insulator preventing the socket from getting on? How tight were you attempting to tighten the plug, it just needs a little past snug(or 19 ft lbs). If you can, blow the hole out with some air, and reinvestigate. I have never seen a plug round off.

I DIDN'T TIGHTEN IT ALL THE WAY. AFTER I HAND TIGHTEN WITH MY EXTENSION I PUT THE RATCHET ON AND TURNED AND HEARD A SNAP THEN GRINDING, SAND LIKE SOUND. I LOOKED DOWN IN THERE AND LOOKS LIKE SOME TYPE OF DEBRIS. LIKE YOU SAY POSSIBLY PORCELAIN. THANKS I'LL TRY TO BLOW IT OUT.
