As I was rolling my window up it made a loud snap and the window will not move up or down by switch, u can move it with your hands though.I took it 2 the cadillac dealer and without even looking at it he said it was the regulator and the cost of the regulator alone is over $400.00 not including labor. Could something else be wrong since it made the loud snapping sound! And isnt $400.00 kind of high just for the regulator. If any one has any input I would be very grateful, i'am supposed to take it in at 8:00a.M. Friday 02/26/09 thanks!

It is the regulator, cable driven. When you operate the switch can you hear some crunching noises? The labor should be around an hour or so, and the 400 price on the regulator is about right, it should include a motor which may be the reason for the cost.

YOU CAN GET THE REGULATOR on line for about $ 100. I have had 6 installed on my 2000 caddy and 2000 Buick. My auto body man does it for $35.
