i had a new fuel pump installed and now my digital fuel gauge keeps flashing empty mechanic cant fix why?

Hi:
Most fuel level floats are an integral part of the fuel pump. It sounds like you may have gotten a bad one, or some wiring was damaged when the fuel tank was removed.
