1996 Cadillac Deville blown head gasket

We have a blown head gasket and all the repair shops are telling us they wont touch it and we have to replace the engine. Why cant we just replace the head gasket? I dont want someone elses used engine and problems. Car still has excellent power. I don't have $2000 to put a motor in a $5000 car. If can't be fixed we'll take $1500 for it

The prob is that the threads come out of the block for the head bolts which is repairable, the dealer has the stuff to do it, if you are willing to pay them
