1995 Cadillac Deville Water in the gas tank?

1995 Cadillac Deville V8 Front Wheel Drive 166343 miles

Hey my car is idling high when it starts and staying that why til I put it in gear. Then it cuts out after I take my foot of the gas peddle. I've been told it was bad gas(water in the gas tank) I put in it HEET and let it run for two hours running out most of the gas but it still does the same thing. What should I do?

Hi:
Water won't cause that problem. It sounds like you have a bad throttle position sensor. Have the computer scanned at a nationally recognized parts store. Most will do it for free, and it will help find the problem. I assure you it isn't water.
