My Caddy has been off the road for 5 months and when I ran it the other day the air-con/ heater would not switch off even after removing the key and walking away. To stop it I removed the 30A fuse under the bonnet. Any suggestions

Hi:
It sounds like the ignition switch isn't responding properly. Have it checked.

Thank you for that Joe, I will try and check it at the weekend. Do you think that it is actually an electrical contact or perhaps a mechanical one in the barrel where a squirt of WD40 might do the trick

Hi:
If it's the only thing that stays runing, either the ignition switch (electrical) is not shutting down, or there is a short allowing to the motor all of the time. Was the car parked in an area that mice could have gotten to it?

To my knowledge there are no mice but they are such little blighters they seem to get in everywhere that they can.
I might squirt some WD40 in the ignition keyhole first as that is the most simple and easiest thing to do.
