My car over heated and sprayed coolant everywhere. The coolant didn't come from the hose to my radator, it came from a hose that's directly beside the cap of the reservoir. The hose is still attached but it's hanging now and I don't know where it goes so I have/had coolant pouring on the ground.

If it is the convoluted tube you are holding, that is just an overflow that expells the coolant out. It is just what you see, a vent to atmosphere. You have an issue that is causing your car to overheat, it could be cooling fans, thermostat, or internal leakage.
