The van ran excellently, had way more power and got way better gas mileage. Loud as hell but sounds mean. Question is there any negative effects to the engine from continued daily use? So far, I haven't any not even a check engine light like I expected to happen the first time starting it after the cat was stolen!

There are no adverse effects that will happen to the engine. If there is no oxygen sensor after the cat there will be no codes as well.
