How do I change the thermostat and where is it located?

Hi:
Follow the upper rad hose to the engine. When you reach the end, you'll find the t-stat housing. Remove the housing and you'll find the t-stat. Finally, make sure to drain the coolant prior to removing the t-stat, otherwise you'll have coolant everywhere.
