1987 Cadillac Brougham

The motor drags after installing new timing chain. Itook the chain back off and motors spins freely. Now the chain is back on and it drags like timing is off but no matter which way I turn distributor it stays the same. What have I done wrong or is there something else wrong?I never removed distributor

to change timming you have to put it in limp mode, timming is set in computer so it stays, maybe have the dist off a tooth ck that also, put a jumper wire in the diag terminal to get ck engine lite on ( limp mode)
