Having issues with poor cabin air flow. Has been getting progressively worse. Looked at how to change filter and discovered that there was no air filter installed (I have had the car ten years and assume it has not had one for this entire time or from initial manufacture). How do I clean out the air system, is this expensive and do I need someone specialized or can a regular mechanic do it?

Check blower for working properly, then check air door. However, our manual says you do have an air filter so that can be the problem. See pictures for removal. Install is reverse of removal.

I will check the other things. I have already checked and there is no air filter in there, there was not one installed. I have noticed that this has been an issue with some Toyota's when new from factory that they have not been installed.

Well, check other things. Also, check to see if squirrel cage is loose on blower motor as that could be it or something blocking it.
