I would like to bypass the A/C compressor by using a shorter serpentine belt until I can afford to get a bypass pulley at least. My A/C compressor has locked up, breaking the current serpentine belt. Is this a possibility?

Compressor locked?

It might work, but I cant find any definite answer on that. You may have to do some trial and error to see if the shorter belt will fit without hitting the A/C compressor

Pulley is locked up now, wasn't on Sunday. Went to start it today and pulley locked and the serpentine belt broke.
