Take the negative battery cable loose. Make sure there is no pressure on the fuel system. Usually after they set overnight without being run or the key cycled, it's ok, but, you still need to be aware. Take the gas cap loose. It's a threaded fitting on one end and a quick connect fitting on the other. Use a wrench on the threaded fitting. The quick connect fitting, I have taken those loose with a pair of needle nose pliers. There will be a couple of ears opposite each other, you squeeze those together and pull on the fuel line. I believe the autostore sells a cheap tool for that fitting. If you use a droplite, don't lay it where gas will get on it. After removing the old filter, if much gas tries to run out of lines, I plug them with something till I'm ready to go back with new filter.
