I changed the Filter and fluid. Now that I have changed it, it will not shift out of low gear, I have read that it is in limp mode. Because I started it befor I filled the fluid, I did not drain the torq. Just the pan.
How do I reset the TCM to let it shift correcetly?

Hi
Was 5 qts fluid replaced? Have you manually shifted trans? The transmission does not have a limp mpde that came along sometime later. You have a governor starting up without oli may have cause air lock in valve body.
Manually shift let me know what happens
Thanks for donate

Yes I have tried manual shifting. Does not make any difference. I have let run no difference, I have asked a dealership, about the trany they say that it is in limp mode. Computer needes to be reprogramed. So who is correct. I need it solved im in a spot that I just cant take the car to a mechanic. It would take me 2 hrs to drive 20 miles. I di use 5 quarts plus one.

Tried manual shifting. 1st is in 1st about 4-5 miles mph. 2nd is 2nd about 5-10 mph. As soon as I let off the throttle the idle goes down and the car coasts. Then you need to get the rpms up to 1500 to 2000 to engage the trany in 2nd gear. It has over drive and in that mode you hear kind of a muffled clicking then when you change to drive, 1, 2, 3 it stops the noise. Car ran great before had 207,000 and it was dirty so I changed it. Go figure.

If filter is not sealed air will enter valve nbody causing low line perssure and causing no 3-4 gear.
