2005 Buick Rendezvous Rear wiper arm

2005 Buick Rendezvous 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I bought a new wiper blade. But, it doesn't clean the whole sweep of the blade. More of the middle of the blade is not touching. This is the same reason I bought a new blade. So I didn't remedy anything. I gently bent the wiper arm, that didn't work. I don't want to mess with much more without reassurance. What can I do to correct this problem? Thanks Andrew

Hi:
There is a spring at the base of the arm (not blade). If it is weak, it won't place enough pressure on the arm to clean. Check if it is rusted, damaged.

The spring is not damaged or rusted. I do notice there is not pull when the blade gets closer to the window. Maybe a new spring is in order?

You could try that, but they are a pain to get on. If you have no luck, maybe a new arm will do the trick.
