2002 Buick Rendezvous Car not accelerating

My car starts with no problem, but after several minutes of drive it will stop accelerating. I push the gas and RPM go up but car does not move. Engine temp is normal and running. If I stop and shut off the car and restart it in several minutes it will again start to move but then after several miles it will again stop accelerating when I press the gas pedal. What could the problem be?

Do you have a check engine light? Sounds like the transmiision is slipping. Have you ever had the transmission serviced?

Yes I do have the light on. I had Autozone check the code and it was something to do with the Trans code (do not remember the code). I had a transmission FLUSH done and the light had gone away but it is back again. What do think the next steps are and how much $$$?

You need to have the code/s pulled again-this thing can be a sensor or a shifting solenoid etc-
