What to beware of

I just purchased a pre-owned 2001 Buick Regal LS. It seems to run like a dream. With a couple of exceptions. Every blue moon, it has a slight issue starting. It always turns over but there is about a second hesitation. It isn't a big deal now, but I wonder if it is the begining of a future problem. Also there is a strange noise that comes when I step on the breaks at times, and that I can feel in the steering wheel. Not a grind or squeel. More like a few bumps, and thumps. I thought it was the inner tie rods, but the dealer checked those and the suspension and said everything was fine. Are there "basic" problems that buick regals encounter that I might as well have looked at now?

I own 3 Buicks. When you step on the brake pedal there is a normal "clicking" type noise that is a built-in safety mechanism for shifting. If that's what it is then it is normal. My car sometimes feels like "bumps" also with the steering. Do you notice does this happen when you have the steering wheel cranked all the way around? If I crank my steering wheel too far then it feels like that and kind of "slips". I just don't crank it as far.
