2002 Buick Regal Possible Converter problem?

I had recently posted a question about my car that has not yet been answered but I have some more input on it. I was testing it some more today and searching online. It starts fine idle sounds decent I really notice no difference from before the problem. So then I give the gas pedal a quick tap and it revs up 600 or so rpms instantly and maintains it for about 3 or 4 seconds before returning to normal idle. The AAA guy said it sounded like the injectors but I dont know how credible he is. Also its like its governed at 4000 rpms (when I floor it) and when I let off its like it wants to konk out and sometimes it does other it just drops back down to idle. I am confused, it shows no service lights or anything I was reading that if the converter is bad that could act as a governor. Is there anything else that could do that?
