2002 Buick Regal cannot put car in gear

In order for your car to be shifted out of park, the brake pedal MUST be depressed. That releases the apt switch where you shifter is. It may be that teh switch in your console isn't getting any power. The first ting to check isbad fuses which is covered on this site on how to check fuses. Your car manual if you have one will tell where your fusebox is. If that doesn't work have apro look at it so you don't have to waste so much time trying to put it in gear.
