I changed the sepentine belt on Buick Regal LS and now car won't crank. What would be the problem?

Hi, cranking is starter action. So, I'm not sure, if your saying it cranks good but won't start or it won't even crank?

Changing the serpentine belt shouldn't have any effect on the starter circuit or valve timing. You have a timing chain.

I haven't looked at info for a theft system on your vehicle, is the lite flashing or anything?

Battery is fine, but it won't even crank. Replaced ignition switch less than a year ago. Have not tested starter.

No other problems were existent when the belt broke. I simply changed it and now the car won't crank.

Just remembered that I accidentally turned the crank pulley about 1/4 of an inch when I was putting on the belt. Would that have caused any problem?

No, turning the crank won't effect the accessory belt.

I looked at your owners manual, you have pass-key 11, that system will disable the starter and injectors. Is the theft lite flashing, when you try to crank? If it is, turn it off, remove the key, clean off the pellet, make sure it is clean and dry, wait three minutes, try again. If it still won't crank, wait three minutes and try a different key. You need to make sure it isn't the theft system.
