2000 Buick Regal runs 8 seconds and then dies

My 2000 buick regal will run for 8 seconds or so and then die. The mechanic does not think it is the fuel pump as it would not keep starting up if it was.A mass air flow sensor has been mentioned, yet no codes come up on the computer.A security issue has been mentioned, again no codes. HELP!

If its cranking and starting, cranking and starting I don't think you have an ignition problem lets do a fuel pressure check to rule out the fuel filter and fuel pump and get back with the readings for further evaluation we start.
