My 2000 Buick Regals LS only blows cold air on the passenger side and hot air on the drivers side. But after a 30 or so minute drive the driver side air starts to get slightly colder but not as cold as the passenger side. Can anyone help me with this?

I took my regal to the shop last week to have them look at it because I thought it was the compressor. They called and told me that it just needed freon. After I got the car it was working fine but now it has dropped 5+ degrees on the drivers side again. The only thing I can do know is get a blacklight and see if I have a leak.

I just found it weird that if you do a search on it via the web you find this is a VERY VERY common problem with our make/model/YEAR, etc. But the fact that it was working perfectly one day then not the next. I have actually charged the freon myself (via walmart can and meter) before on my old car several times, but it's a pain and kindof risky (if you get the pressure too high etc) Plus you have to have someone to turn it on, and off, and more. But it's like $40 as opposed to $150. I know the compressor is working just wished it was a vacuum tube or something on the vent door as opposed to an actual leak. Blah. If you find out for sure, come back so I know where to start. :) Kymber
