I WENT TO THE LOCAL BONE YARD
AND BOUGHT A ICM WITH COILS FOR $40.00
PUT IT IN AND COILS A COOL BUT THE ALTERNATOR SEEMS TO GET HOT AFTER 10 TO 15 MINUTES OF RUNNING, HAD NEIGHBOR KID PUT IN A STARTER A WHILE BACK, COULD HE HAVE MESSED UP THE WIRES ON THE STARTER?

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Use a volt meter to check alt. Output at B+ ie. Large red wire on alt. Should be 14.5 to 15.5V if in that range with engine at 1500rpms then O.K. Alt will get very warm when inoperation that is reason for fan blades on the front
