It was bumpy and all of a sudden my check engine light came on?

I have a 99 buick regal gs supercharged and I was driving thru a parking lot on friday and it was bumpy and all of a sudden my check engine light came on its been on for 3days already and I dnt kno why its on. What can it be and what can I do?

Hello,

The check engine light gets illuminated when the on-board diagnostics detects issues with any of the engine management systems like a sensor or a component. It can also be due to an emission issue like a leak in the EVAP system or a faulty oxygen sensor etc.
There could be any number of reasons of why the engine light is on.

Best course of action is to scan the vehicle and retrieve the error code(s).
This will help with the diagnostics.
