1996 Buick Regal squeaking

When I turn the AC on I will get a periodic loud squealing. The squealing goes away when I turn the AC off. Not sure if its the AC clutch or belt. I guess I could buy a belt (cheaper) and try that first, but is there any good way to determine which is causing the problem?

Is the Oil Presure light in the dashboard on? I had the same problem when I turned on the heater or the a/c. I changed the oil pressure switch & the noise stopped. I think it was because ofthe extra load in the engine & the oil pressaure was low to begin with putting on the a/c jus strained the engine & pump more, making the noise.
