1995 Buick Regal Passenger door will not unlock.

The front passenger door will not unlock automatically or with the key. I have tried to "thump" it with a rubber mallet, free it up with a slim jim but I still can't get the door open. I can't take the inside door panel off because the door is shut.
Any suggestions? I also haven't found anything showing me how to get to the inside of the door from the outside. I am tired of climbing over the driver's seat or through the window. Dukes of Hazard I am not.

"Dukes of Hazard I am not." What a great picture. If you can't get it open with a slim jim, the only choice is to remove the door panel. Push the seat back as far as you can and lay down the back rest. It's a pain, but that is the only way.
