I have an '89 Buick Regal with about 100k miles. It is a four door with an automatic transmission. Recently while driving on the road it just stopped. It had a full tank of gas and when I tried to restart it, it refused to start. It wasn't getting gas, so I ended up changing the fuel filter. It ran perfect for almost a full day but then on my way home it died again and refused to restart. What could the problem be?

See if it is temp related. Does it start back up when the motor cools down. Try and pore some water on the cranksensor when the car wont start. I have done this several times to find out if the cranksensor is breaking down hot.

Let me know.
