Does it damage the car's electrical system if you disconnect the battery while the car is running?

Thanks,

It will you're creating an open circuit-If you're checking the alternator if its working use a voltmeter

I have always wondered about that. I appreciate your assistance. The reason I was asking was for a constant flickering of interior and exterior lights while driving down the road.

Again, I appreciate your help!
