2 sepaterate problems.

Fuel gauge problem is probably the fuel level sensor in the tank.

On the heat, are you getting volume with the blower on and it's not hot,
or
There is no volume of air coming out, but warm at the vent?

If your fuel gauge needle seems to be below the empty side pin, it is probably not the sender, but the gauge itself that has the problem.

This is a very common problem with these cars when the battery is either discharged or disconnected.

If that is the case, there are a couple different ways you can repair it at little or no cost.

If the fuel gauge is bouncing around (from "empty light on" to full), especially when it gets below 1/4 tank, it probably is the sender in the tank.

Write back with more details of the fuel gauge problem. I may be able to help.
