I need a camshaft position sensor?

I recently had my car scanned for trouble codes and it turns out that I need a camshaft position sensor. I have bought the part but I'm having trouble locating it on my engine. Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hello,

The camshaft position sensor is located on the timing cover behind the water pump near the camshaft sprocket (see diagram below).

Your engine's camshaft position sensor 'counts' the camshaft rotating during engine operation. It uses magnetic field to keep track of the rotation. That information then gets sent to the ECM.
