My radio works but when I try and play a cd it just spits right back and and says err but ive tried plenty of different cds and it does it on alll of em could it be my cd player went out or something

Is this factory radio? I don't recall GM installed CD head unit as a factory unit back in 1994.

Spitting CD and error message mean that the laser reader is out of alignment. You may be able to take it in to an electronic shop for them to try to fix. But if you don't have sentimental issue with the CD player, you may get a new one (better one) for about the same cost to repair the 15 year old unit.
