1993 Buick Park Avenue speed adjusts itself while driving

My car will suddenly increase my speed without me touching the accelerator. This also happened while in cruise control.
Yesterday, I was idling along and the speed just slowly increased from 0 to 35 mph. It continued while idling up a short small hill.

Hi:
Is the check engine light on? It sounds like a problem with the idle air control or throttle position sensor, but I would be guessing without a code. Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have the scan the computer for codes. Most will do it for free and that way we will know if it is an electrical problem, sensor.
