Heater problem
1991 Buick Park Avenue 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150K miles

During road trip of 100 miles, smelled electical burning without associated smoke. Assumed from outside source. All systems worked after, but fan was inop next morning. Checked usual suspects all good. Pulled codes got 00. Controller calls for fan (bars climb) but gets none. Could it be DC speed controller? What next?

Tested voltage at fan connector and found 14 volts at max fan speed and 0 volts at min speed. I don't know why I was so quick to assume the worse. I will replace the fan and believe that will be that. I appreciate your quick response.
