1996 Other Buick Models security light - won't start

Recently I’ve been having problems starting my Buick Bonneville. The keys turn, there is power and lights, but no ignition. And then again, it starts like a champ. I noticed the security light is on when I’m having the “no start" problems. What’s involved in getting the Buick to start regularly again? Big bucks or a simple override?

GM PASS LOCK RELEARN- Ignition to "run" position, try to start and let key return to "run" position
Approx ten minutes security light will go off
Turn key "off" and wait 5 seconds
Repeat 2 more times for a total of 3 relearns.
Turn key off, then start it
