I own the above '97 Buick Lesabre Engine Code: K //V6 //3.8L // 205 HP With a firing order of: 1-6-5-4-3-2.

About 9 Months ago my Battery was having a problem in the Negative terminal, Bad wires to the side connector etc. I bought the higher-grade replacement and had "P-Boys" replace it and repair the terminals. Then 42 days latter I had a DEAD CAR. NO Starter. Battery was Charged for 14 HRS. And barely reached 12.8 vdc. They replaced the Battery at NO Charge, but I caught the Tech as he was bringing the "New Battery" to the car; it was not only an inferior Battery but was rated at 550 Cranking amps - I paid for a 770 Cranking Amp Battery; after MUCH convincing the Manager put in a 770 C-Amp Battery. Stating that since that DID NOT Fix the "NO START" problem; I'd have to leave it while they ran an $80 Diagnostic Test and call me with an Estimate. They Charged me for a new Starter and since then my Buick has been stalling Intermittently ! Being a Broadcast Engineer over 35 years I UNDERSTAND the inherent problems with Intermittent Failures.

Well the car SEEMS to stall the most during at an idle condition and while the car is in DRIVE with the Brakes ON. Since there seems to be no Idle Adjustment, I used a wire-tie and placed it on the end of the accelerator wire just in front of the Lead-looking ball. This SEEMED to work for about One-Day, then the computer adjusted the idle back down and the "CHECK ENGINE" Light came on. I cut-OFF my "Mod" and replaced the spark-plug wires, although they SEEM to be in the WRONG order; hence my request for the Proper Firing-Chart. Put in a pint of "SeaFoam" in the gas tank and the "CHECK ENGINE" Light is now OFF ! YES !

However; the car is still been stalling intermittently; granted I JUST got the engine light off in the last 6 hours. ANY HELP. PLEASE.

Thank you in advance. Donation WILL BE SENT !

Sounds like the intermittant stalling may be due to the idle needing to be relearned from the PCM losing power.

I'd recommend staying away from the chain repair shops for various reasons. $80 is pretty steep to diagnose a starter failure, not to mention having to fight for what you should be getting regarding the battery. Looks like the made up for it. That's the stuff the gives this industry a bad name.
