now you need to know beforehand that this is information that I got for trying to diagnose my buick's "little issue" and has not been tested or verified personally. However, your safety switch is supposedly located inside your transmission and when your car sits for a period of months (3+) it flips and inadvertantly causes the starting issue. The other possibility is that your battery cable leading to your starter is starting to foul out, unfortunately if it is this then your looking at a $100 replacement from buick, since there isn't an aftermarket version of the cable.

Ok, I have been a mechanic for nearly 30 years and you lost me on this one. What is happening? Are you refering to the neutral safety switch? If so, try starting the car in neutral rather than park and let me know what happens. Finally, the positive cable from the battery to the starter isn't really anything special.
