When car is cold it will start fine and run for 3 to 5 miles then quit running. It will not start for appx. 1 hour. I have replaced the coil module and all three coils (delco type II ignition). The engine will be still warm after 1 hour but it does start but then quits again after driving appx. 2 miles.

Your problem is a lock up switch on the transmision, if you open the hood on the top of the transmision you will see a sensor unplug it and your problems will be fine. You dont have to replace it, but you can if you wish it will fine just leaving it unpluged. Try this tell me if it works for you.

P.S this sensor is for if you motor over heats it locks up yup everything to provent engine damage.
