Vehicle Speed sensor

My speedometer is fluctuating. I was told it is my speed sensor. The parts guys said there is an input sensor and a output sensor. Which do I need to replace? And what is the difference?

For the speedo you need to replace the output shaft speed sensor here is the location. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

As far as the VSS goes there is a input VSS in the transmission and a out put VSS on the trans axle where the CV shaft housing is. Which is which?

You need the one on the outside of trans, it attaches to drive gear on side of axle housing which then sends signals to speedo gauge telling it where to be at. Check out the diagrams above
