how do I disconnect the quick connector on a fuel line for a 1998 buick century? I have to drain 5 year old gas from the car to put in fresh, and I wan to use the fuel pump to pump it out into a gas can.

The line can be taken apart by holding on to both ends and twisting them in the opposite direction, then clean off any dirt with some air, then pinch the ears sticking out and pull apart. This aplication is for plastic lines. For metal you will need a diconnect tool number 137088 to take the line apart. It suggests that to get fuel out is to use a hand pump and remove from the filler neck. If you run it through the pump the varnish or dirt from sitting so long could clog up the fuel pump strainer
