The oil light has come on a few times, and when putting it in gear, the car does not move while oil light is on. I shut car off, turn on again, then it is fine til the next time. Mechanic says oil is fine. He can't find nothing wrong with it. Know the reason? Sincerely John B.

Is it the Change Engine Oil soon light or the OIL Can light?

On some cars of this type, you need to reset the oil change light, by opening the glovebox, turning the car to "On" not run, and press and hold (about 5-10 seconds) the button inside that says, "Reset Oil Light/Switch". Thereby causing the light to flash 2-4 times, and go out.

If the other light is on, then the problem could be related to your Oil Life indicator sensor inside the oil pan, or you truly do have a leak somewhere.
