My car makes this loud, constant noise that sounds like an airplane idling. At first I thought it was my water pump so I got it changed along with the thermostat. The sound never quiets and it even elevates when accelerating. After going over everything with my mechanic, he stated that it is the air compressor. He also mentioned that in the meantime(until I get a new air compressor) I maybe able to get a smaller serpentine belt to bypass the compressor all together. Is this a possibility? Does Buick have a smaller serpentine belt in which to accomplish this?

It may or may not be possible. Some vehicles you can bypass certain pullies. However, you wont be able to just go buy a belt for your vehicle without the compressor it wont work. You will need to get mutiple belt of different lengths. If you can figure a route around everthing before going to get a new belt you can take a piece if string and go around the route to get a guest as to the length.
