I have had a crank pulley fall off (on another car) for no apparent reason. But the fact it was recently worked on sure sounds suspicious. Maybe the second mechanic could explain what exactly was wobbling. You might ask if they accidentally left off the Woodruff key that keeps the pulley from turning on the crankshaft. It could get very pricey if the crankshaft is damaged.
