I recently bought a 1987 Century 3.8L Auto with 49K. The car after running fine did not want to stay running some times. Engine scanner pointed towards a MAF so that was replaced and stalling stopped. The car still "putters" at idle. I've installed new plugs, wires and IAC sensor. These all helped a little but the car still putters at idle, more so after she is hot (after a freeway run). I believe the scanner showed TPS voltage of 4.5 at idle which I believe is correct. Could you point me some direction? I believe all the sensors are orginal equipment, the car was bought at an estate sale, the plugs and wires I believe were original equipment when I pulled them out. Thanks!

Recheck the TPS voltage both idle and WOT. Also check the idle air control motor/valve

I was told its the timing, so I checked the timing and my timing is horribly off, its supposed to be 10 degrees before TDC and mine is past the marks so far I had to look pretty hard to even find the marks on the harmonic balancer. So have the timing done and maybe that will fix it.
